xRepath ver. 2.6.1.1 (released Oct. 07/2001)

Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000 tool, changes external reference paths in AutoCAD drawings (the program works without AutoCAD) or creates a list of attached xrefs/images.

Download the AXR2INST.EXE(1,271,790 bytes) installation program that will install xRepath files on your system. Works with all versions of DWG files containing external reference files (XREF or IMAGE, R11 to Acad2002).

On April 22/2001 xRepath was awarded distinction of by CADDEPOT.COM reviewers.

Use it on all your 50 or 1000000 drawings in order to:

• modify individual xref or image paths
• switch all paths from drive M: to Y:  or from K:\project to \\ntserver3\project
• strip xref/image paths
• switch full paths to relative paths
• create database of xrefs and images (organize and review reference paths throughout the whole project.

Works without AutoCAD and processes 1000 DWGs (avg. 1MB)   per hour.

General Description

In the past few years IntelCAD Systems had specialized in the development of custom standalone tools for processing AutoCAD drawings. We designed these tools so that we could repair drawing files that could not be recovered with AutoCAD.

In 1999 we decided to commercialize some of our developments and offer them to a wider Acad community. We proudly present xRepath as our first product of this kind to reach the market.

xRepath is the first in IntelCAD BLITZ! series of standalone power tools for the processing of AutoCAD drawings. It can be used to change the paths of attached reference files (XREF or IMAGE) in thousands of drawings. Another function that can be performed by this program is creating an Excel spreadsheet of references contained in the processed drawings:

The unique characteristic of this program is that it doesn’t need AutoCAD to access and modify drawing files. Another outstanding feature is its amazing processing speed. Where it would take about 24 days for a batch/lisp utility to load, modify, and change the path of external reference files as well as save 10000 drawings on a larger project (assuming 3.5 min. /dwg avg.), this program will do this task in a few hours. And for the everyday needs of sending some drawings with xrefs to the client, it will modify your 100 megabytes of drawings in just two minutes (instead of a few hours with a lisp/Acad based solution).

The program comes with a fully illustrated help file that explains all the aspects of operation in detail.

In the near future we are planning to issue more standalone DWG tools - here are some of them:

• a scanner for finding corrupted files among thousands of drawings in network directories;
• other programs for the unsupervised modifying of files from a list: renaming layers and blocks, modifying attributes (eg. revision number) and other named objects throughout projects, detaching xrefs, etc., etc.

Shareware (Temporary license) version

Download a free copy for evaluation now: load AXR2INST.EXE (1,271,790 bytes) to some location on your hard disk, then run it like any other standard Windows setup. This will install the program files and temporary license on your computer.
After successful installation, start the program from the Start menu: Start->Programs->xRepath

The following are limitations of the Evaluation version:

• The license is limited to 14 days. You can get FREE extension time by sending the time code to IntelCAD by email.
• A single run of the program will repath the first 5 files from your DLF list (you can run it as many times as you like, so there is no limit in how many files you can re-path with this shareware).
• The command line parameters can be used only with the registered version.

1. Some of our clients had more than 100000 files to process, hence we increased the maximum number of files processed in one run from 50000 to 1000000.
2. Compiled with the latest library compatible with AutoCAD2002.
3. Removed the limitation of a maximum of 255 path specifications in the XPS file.
4. Fixed the problem with XCLIP boundaries disappearing from files saved in AutoCAD 2000 format (it was caused by an error in older OpenDWG API).
5. Network paths starting with the computer name (eg. \\server1\projects... ) are now accepted in the DLF file
6. Wildcard "*" (any path) specification is now accepted for the "FROM" argument in the XPS file - this allows for an easy change of all paths to relative paths, or for stripping all paths.

version 2.5.0.5 (Jan. 20/2001)

1. Added re-pathing of xrefs that have paths pointing to the Internet (they can be displayed only by AutoCAD 2000i, so don’t use this with earlier versions of AutoCAD)
2. Added the possibility to move the fully licensed program from one computer to another (see "Moving License To Another Computer" in the program help file).

1. Added the possibility to change the whole path, including the file name (read the program help file about the "Process Path Only" option). Most users wanted to change the path only without modifying the file name, however we had some users that expressed an interest in the possibility of changing the name of the xref file itself (without modifying the corresponding block name).

1. Added support for AutoCAD2000 DWG files. The maximum length of an xref path increased from 80 to 512 characters.
2. Fixed the bug that caused unresolved xrefs to be ignored by the program.
